LBB will contribute towards Great Guns director Meena Ayittey and human rights attorney Jill Collen Jefferson’s new film, and urges the industry to do the same
Dear industry folk,
We have come across a project that we believe needs support. It is the story of Jill Collen Jefferson - if you don’t know who she is, please read on.
Alongside a number of other brands who have already come forward to contribute to this cause, we at LBB want to support with cash and help raise the money through our friends in the industry. We see lots of interesting ideas at LBB, and thought this one is absolutely right to support.
Please help us in raising the tiny amount of money needed to fund this film.
Imagine fighting every day for racial justice and never making progress. Now imagine you can make a difference in the fight.
‘History on Repeat’ is a short film about Jill Collen Jefferson and her fight to help victims of modern day lynchings, unjustified police killings, and other hate crimes. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Meena Ayittey, the film follows the fictional week in the life of Jill as she goes up against history, the system, gender bias, and so much more.
The project is currently halfway through its 30-day target to raise funds, and any support would be greatly appreciated.
Director Meena Ayittey shares this quote from Will Rogers: “We will never have true civilization until we learn to recognise the rights of others.”
Laura Gregory, founder and CEO of Great Guns, adds: “I’ve been moved by the support from companies and individuals who want to help make this film come to life. The brands who have stepped up in the first week of our Kickstarter include TAZO Tea, LBB, Oto Film, Absolute Post, ORKA, and Cafe Ole. We are all partnering together to make this happen so Jill can expand her work. It gives me hope that people care so deeply about fairness and humanity.”
Oliver Fuselier, managing director of Great Guns USA, comments: “History repeats itself even though we as Americans have civil rights which guarantee us equal social opportunities and equal protection under the law, regardless of race, religion, or other personal characteristics. Please help us support Jill and Meena in making sure that every American knows this as they watch ‘History on Repeat’.”
