Bulgaria is Fully Open and Ready for Shooting
Bulgaria is offering strict health and safety measures, providing both local and remote production services. The country was hardly impacted by Covid-19 due to the prompt and timely measures of the government and health authorities. With less than 4% in new cases (from total PCR tests per day), Bulgaria is fully open to support any type of film production. Most of the restrictions are down, and the borders are open to most European countries without quarantine for travelers from abroad. Shooting is possible on every location as before covid times - indoor, outdoor, studios. In some special places (as metro stations, train, airports) there are some restrictions with the schedule or night shooting, with breaks for sanitising/disinfection. Permitted local travels for shootings between the cities, countryside, etc. Most of the good hotels are open, with all covid precautions in place. In indoor spaces, masks (or helmets) are obligatory - except in restaurants, cafes and bars where staff will wear masks, and the physical distance is a minimum of two meters.
Since June, new productions started with all safety measures and options for remote monitoring. Crew and talents are tested prior, with masks/ppe on set, keeping physical distance and constant sanitising of the shooting premises.
In case of the director, client or the agency preferring not to travel, there are several options for remote monitoring from Teradek Go streaming via any available platform (like Youtube or Vimeo), through Qtake cloud services, and also locally developed platform for 360 view on set, cameras view and live chat options. There is great support with local experienced crew including directors, DoP's, production designers.
Apart from the commercial production, also foreign feature films have began locally - currently 'The Devil's Light' is running, and Millenium just completed production of Megan Fox thriller 'Till Death' (more info can be found here - screendaily.com/news).
