IKEA's Limited Edition Tablecloths Include Helpful Cues to Set an Ideal Holiday Table

Rethink Canada and Wunderman Thompson inspire Family members to set the ideal festive table with strategically placed patterns and designs

IKEA's Limited Edition Tablecloths Include Helpful Cues to Set an Ideal Holiday Table

With the arrival of December, and the holidays underway it’s likely you’ve already started to ‘assemble together’ with your loved ones – hosting and attending the delicious meals and festive dinner parties we’ve all longed for. At IKEA, it’s ingrained in its culture and spirit to celebrate togetherness, especially during the holidays when moments of connecting are so essential.

This holiday, IKEA are inspiring its Family members from coast to coast with limited-edition IKEA Set-The-Tablecloths that are designed with cues to help set an ideal holiday table. At first glance the tablecloths appear as simply beautiful and festive, but on closer examination, you’ll see a strategically selected pattern designed to achieve the perfect table setting – with room for your favourite dinnerware, and festive dishes. IKEA Set-the-tablecloths are available in two universal designs: modern – which seats eight and has room for a collection of potluck dishes, and traditional – a formal seating for four with guides for everything down to the salad fork.

“We know hosting can be stressful. When we have guests over, we want our homes to shine at their best, and most importantly, be welcoming,” said Johanna Andren, head of marketing at IKEA Canada. “The pressure to have a truly special celebration is certainly amplified this year as we plan to reunite with loved ones. To take some stress out of hosting, we’re putting our design expertise to work by simplifying a common element of the festivities for our customers and adding a bit of fun to one the most joyous times of year."

IKEA Family members can enter to win a limited edition IKEA Set-the-tablecloth at IKEA.ca/SetTheTablecloths from December 2nd - 12th. One grand prize winner will be drawn from entrants across the country to win a $500 IKEA gift card in addition to their choice of limited edition tablecloth. Another 100 lucky winners in the Greater Toronto Area will be selected at random and able to pick up their tablecloth prize (plus additional hosting tips and inspiration) at IKEA North York on December 18th.

IKEA brought this initiative together in collaboration with its creative agency, Rethink Canada, as well as Wunderman Thompson who activated the IKEA Family contest, and Carat Canada on media buying.
