City of Chicago 'Boards of Change' (2020)
Immortal work rarely comes from a brief. It comes from awareness and purpose.
This is work I revisit time and again to feel the fire of inspiration. It reminds me that we have the ability and responsibility to create and lead meaningful change.
Part activism, part installation, this idea sees messages of unity and justice on plywood barricades repurposed into mouthpieces for disenfranchised voices and actual votes.
I love that it’s paint on plywood, reimagined with a saw and some nails. I love that it’s a wonderfully low-fi solution to a complex issue.
It’s work that transcends advertising and leaves a positive impact on the world.
