Wunderman Thompson Launches 2021 Helen Lansdowne Resor Scholarship

Wunderman Thompson Launches 2021 Helen Lansdowne Resor Scholarship

Wunderman Thompson is pleased to launch the 2021 Helen Lansdowne Resor Scholarship in partnership with the 4A’s Foundation. Named after Helen Lansdowne Resor, the industry and Wunderman Thompson’s first female copywriter, the scholarship aims to amplify historically marginalised voices in the creative industry.

Now in its 5th year, the global scholarship opportunity will award four recipients up to $10,000 towards their creative journey, plus a paid internship at a Wunderman Thompson office in their respective region, a mentor from Wunderman Thompson, and a ‘first look’ placement consideration upon graduation.

Ezinne Okoro, global chief inclusion, equity and diversity officer at Wunderman Thompson says: “Helen Lansdowne Resor was an unparalleled creative force during her time. She consistently championed the advancement of women’s rights both inside and outside the agency, and amplified the voices of young women around her to encourage them to take their rightful place in the advertising industry.

“It’s our pleasure to help share Helen’s voice with young creative women and non-binary individuals and present this scholarship in her honour for the 5th year. We hope that by giving them the support and mentorship they need we will enable them to join advertising’s creative ranks and create a more diverse, equitable, and truly inclusive future for our industry,” she continued.

Daniel Bonner and Bas Korsten, global chief creative officers at Wunderman Thompson added: “Inspiration is the guiding principle of Wunderman Thompson, so it’s an honour to pay homage to the legacy of one of the industry’s pioneers and most inspiring female creatives with a scholarship in her name. We have no doubt the calibre of applicants will be high, and we look forward to working with the scholarship recipients in each region and welcoming them into the fold of the incredible creative talent we have at the agency.”

Applications open on 15th November 2021 and close on 7th January 2022. Four scholarships will be given in total, with winners announced in March 2022.
