easyJet Transports Travellers to the Places They’re Missing Through AR Filters

Filters developed with VCCP teleport users to five stunning locations across Europe

easyJet Transports Travellers to the Places They’re Missing Through AR Filters

Today, easyJet has launched 'Holidoorways', a social-first campaign featuring five different AR filters which aim to whisk the nation away to idyllic locations such as beautiful beaches, canals and coves in Santorini, Venice, Zante, Nice and The Algarve.

The social campaign was created by VCCP and VCCP CX and will run for two weeks across the UK and eight other key European markets, including France, Germany and Italy. With visions of sandy beaches and clear blue seas having been sorely missed, the AR filters offer an innovative way to transport users to five luxurious locations from the comfort of their own home.

From the stunning Santorini coast to the golden sands of The Algarve, these filters will teleport people from the mundanity of their living room to their next potential holiday destination. The VCCP CX team specialise in creating dynamic design-led experiences, which allow brands to reach their customers in fun and engaging ways. The Holidoorways AR portal experience encourages spontaneous interaction, whether outdoors, in a store or eating in your favourite restaurant.

Following the airline’s ‘3 Minute Escapes’ campaign, 'Holidoorways’ champions escapism by utilising the Instagram platform, with the filters imagined as if the viewer is travelling through their bedroom door into another world.

At the heart of the campaign, easyJet wanted to inspire customers through their social platforms providing the opportunity to enjoy a glimpse of these wondrous locations across Europe, through AR and provide inspiration for those who are planning a trip to look forward to.

Lucy Outram, head of brand and central marketing at easyJet said: “We are thrilled to launch our new Holidoorways AR filters. We know our customers want to travel to more destinations as soon as possible and so, we wanted to bring some of our favourite holiday locations into people’s homes so they can enjoy a glimpse of the places they can’t wait to return to, or find new inspiration when planning a trip to look forward to. We can’t wait to welcome even more customers back on board soon and we hope that our AR filters transport you away in the meantime.”

Shirin Majid, deputy executive creative director at VCCP added: “Our easyJet Holidoorways experience in AR simulates the thrill of escaping to a new destination by tapping the elements that we miss most about travel: the anticipation, the discovery, and the sights and sounds of somewhere new."

‘Holidoorways’ will run from today for a period of two weeks across easyJet’s Instagram @easyjet.
