Gameloft for brands Wins Two Prestigious Competitions

Gameloft for brands, a media and creative house for gamified branded content, in collaboration with, Univision, the leading Hispanic media company in the U.S., has just won in two prestigious competitions, including a silver award at the Creativity International Design & Advertising Awards and a Bronze in the MMA (Mobile Marketing Association) Smarties Awards. These competitions evaluate excellence in creative design from established and up-in-coming designers across the globe.

Gameloft for brands was awarded under Video Game - Graphics and Mobile Gaming, Gamification & E-Sports for the custom playable ad unit created for Univision’s crime thriller, El Dragon. The playable unit, based on the Japanese puzzle box and a nod to the novela’s unique plot, was integrated into Gameloft for brands’ network of in-game media. The ad challenged players to decipher increasingly difficult puzzles as fast as possible to earn the best score and top the leaderboard. They could also challenge friends through built-in social prompts.

In addition, players had the option to learn more about the telenovela through sections dedicated to the trailer, character bios, and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage. The playable unit was further integrated into the overall marketing plan, being featured in an activation attended by more than 100,000 people. Attendees could access the mobile game through a QR code or when prompted by entering a geo-fenced area.
