Realtor.com and Huge Channel Classic Horror Films for New OOH and Print Campaign
Just in time for Halloween, RDC and Huge have partnered to create 'Homebuying Horror Stories', a new OOH and print campaign.
'Homebuying Horror Stories' features unique posters and print ads, each channeling the iconic imagery of '80s and '90s horror films, instantly recognisable to an entire generation of Americans, many of whom are dealing for the first time with a nightmarish housing market. But unlike traditional horror films, these offer help in the form of Realtor.com-backed solutions, including a rental marketplace, neighborhood searches, affordability calculators, and a First Time Homebuyer Guide that offers invaluable home buying advice from experts.
Right now, the housing market has limited inventory that’s sparking bidding wars, competitive pricing, and even prompting many homebuyers to forgo home inspections. Many first time homebuyers are left feeling confused, and overwhelmed, living in their own nightmare. To meet this challenge and help these millennial homebuyers navigate this new landscape, Realtor.com is introducing the First Time Homebuyer Guide, an online resource that offers tips and advice from experts to help people find the home that’s right for them, including ways to improve credit scores, conduct a virtual house hunt, navigate closing costs and the final walkthrough and more.
Each poster highlights terrifying realities that first time buyers are facing in the current housing market, including: being outbid on multiple homes, running out of desirable housing inventory, taking out mortgages that are beyond affordability, and home inspection issues. It then offers Realtor.com-created solutions meant to help homebuyers, like rental inventory, neighbourhood maps with pricing, affordability calculator, as well as a First Time Homebuyers Guide.
The work rolls out in print ads in the NYPost from October 13, and the OOH launches at the Austin Film Festival from October 21.
“Homebuying Horror Stories” runs until Halloween, and the First Time Homebuyer Guide will be available at Realtor.com/FTHB indefinitely
Realtor.com will also be promoting the work across its social channels
