UNIT Studios Takes Vanarama from Meek to Chic in Campaign from Dark Horses

This week saw the unveiling of yet another creative collaboration between Unit, Dark Horses and MindsEye with the three-part ‘New Lease of Life’ campaign created by Dark Horses for vehicle leasing company Vanarama.

Featuring a clever tagline ‘Find your New Lease of Life with Vanarama’, the series of fun films directed by MindsEye’s Andrew Gaynord, with renowned comedian Tom Davis supplying the voiceover, are built on the premise of aspiration and how most drivers wish they were driving a slicker vehicle than they currently do. In all three films, the protagonists dramatically transform their everyday humdrum lives into their most ambitious dreams when they upgrade to a Vanarama leased vehicle. 

UNIT Studios proudly supported the campaign undertaking all the graphics, the online and the VFX.

Unit’s VFX artist Rob Ellis contributes: “It was really nice to work on such a fun job as a team where the creatives were open to trying out ideas in online.  Usually we'd just 'crash-zoom' into a screen to join shots together but instead we built the comps at 4k which meant the graphics could seamlessly resolve to full screen without any loss of quality. With the combination of Nuke and 2 flames running concurrently, this allowed us to work on all three films at once and deliver in a short timeframe.”

Such is the success of the campaign, the online and social media rollout which is set to run though out the year will now be supported with a follow up further layer of TV scheduled for the Autumn.
