I love storytelling and the impact sound has on a story. I truly enjoy the team of sound designers and mixers I work next to every day at NoiseFloor. Watching a project come in the door for the first time to go over the clients hopes and dreams for sound, to the spotting session, to watching the team progress as they work on each layer of sound, wrapping up everything in the final mix session is a dream I've never dreamed, come true. I say that because in high school, I was in this stage where I was obsessed with music and film which made me start to dream of being a Music Supervisor. One film I fondly remember looking up is Wes Anderson's "Rushmore" (I know - total cliche) to see who the Music Supervisor was and then reading more about Randall Poster. Ever since then I thought "This guy is soooo good!" And coincidentally, maybe not, after I'm digging the opening music to a film, I'll look for the Music Supervisor credit and most of the time it's RANDALL. The guy is just good. Anyways, from then on I went to film school, which only had one Music Supervision class, which I took, enjoyed, was challenged, but ultimately fell into post audio and loved the art and craft of Foley. So I freelanced as a foley artist for a bit while interning at post audio houses trying to become an assistant when after a year, I realized something was off there. I knew audio was my niche, but specifically doing WHAT in audio was the question. From sound designing and mixing student short films, to freelance foley artist, to interning for what seemed like forever in Chicago post audio houses, to managing an audio facility, I've found my niche is a CREATIVE PRODUCER - communicating between clients and our team, to finding projects that will allow everyone to grow, and keeping everyone happy and balanced, while staying within budget! Which I know isn't always the case, but we'll try our best. :)
