- Executive Creative Director Hotel Chocolat June 2006 – April 2012, London, United Kingdom Board Director, reporting to the CEO, with global responsibility for brand strategy, brand communications, PR and all creative output online, off-line, store design and packaging. Managed and directed the in-house design studio with a team of 10. Instrumental part of the product development team. Responsible for numerous key product concepts and launches. Hotel Chocolat is headquartered in England, with subsidiaries or franchisors in: USA, Germany, Scotland, the GCC area, Holland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Key achievements: 1. Voted “most advocated” British brand in the UK by Marketing Week, January 2012. 2. Successful launch of US retail operation and hotelchocolat.com. 3. Successful launch of over 70 shops, coffee shops and restaurants worldwide. 4. Winner of “Best in Europe” Design Award, Retail Week Interior Awards, for the Hotel Chocolat Roast+Conch store in Covent Garden, 2012. 5. Creating a “real” Hotel Chocolat in Saint Lucia in 2011. A luxury boutique hotel listed in the Condé Nast Hot List 2012. 6. Brand collaborations with Grey Goose Vodka, BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts), Barbie’s 50th anniversary and Agent Provocateur amongst others. 7. Awarded “Cool Brand” status by Super Brands, 2007-2011. 8. No. 1 on The Sunday Times "Fast Track 100" list, 2008. 9. Voted “Emerging Retailer of the Year” by Retail Week, 2007.
- Fredrik Ahlin was born in Stockholm, Sweden on 2nd of October 1970. In the late eighties he begun working as a design studio assistant, but was soon promoted to deputy Art Director. Shortly after graduating from Beckmans School Of Design in 1995 Ahlin moved to London to work with television. In 1997 he worked a short period for the newly launched style bible Wallpaper before moving to Germany to work for Vogue. In 1998, back in London, he worked a period for British Vogue before he began a successful career as freelance Creative Director. ” –When I think of Hotel Chocolat I think of attraction, a place to be seduced.My vision for Hotel Chocolat is somewhere between the tranquility of a luxurious cosmetic counter, the pace of a stylish airport, the allure of a timeless beauty like Catherine Deneuve and the hottest and sexiest night at Studio 54… “ Over the following years Ahlin travelled between Sweden, England, Russia and the US. His clients and employers included Condé Nast, Wella, Chivas Brothers, The Nobel Foundation, Fenwick of Bond Street and David Morris Jewellers, as well as acting as the Creative Director for the prestigious US based cosmetics and beauty brand FACE Stockholm. Between 2006 and 2012 Ahlin held the Creative Director position at renovned British coca grower and luxury chocolatier Hotel Chocolat. During his reign there, the brand went from virtually unknown, to the most advocated British brand in the United Kingdom.
