Douwe Dirks  is Creative Technologist and Head of Digital at JWT Amsterdam. After graduating from Architecture at the Royal Academy of Arts he co-founded digital & online publishing house Publishment in 1993. Their ‘CD-Interior’ was the 1st commercial project of Lost Boys, now LBI. After Wolters Kluwer acquired the company in 1997 he ventured into new areas as mobile & gaming and founded WSX.com, the world soccer exchange in 1999. This online soccer game & community hit 24 million users during the Euro2000 soccer championships and was acquired the same year. Being a creative entrepreneur he continued to develop new international concepts. He co-founded Media Republic, an Amsterdam based cross-media agency and created ‘Jong Zuid’, the world’s 1st mobile soap opera. After Media Republic sold its games division Guerilla Games, famous for its Sony PS2 launch title Killzone, he left the company to co-found OneBigGame.com, the global videogames charity initiative. OneBigGame is currently working on her 3rd title, the SXPD; an iPad exclusive interactive dark comic racer. At JWT he is working with global JWT offices on multiple games & gamification projects and concepts for clients as HSBC, Bayer, Opel, Corona, Shell and Nestle.
